Rocket Builders expands Rocket Recognition Program to include Many Technology Sectors with Emerging Companies
New Recognition List Identifies Technology Companies with Potential for Significant Future Growth
VANCOUVER, BC - January 24, 2008 - Rocket Builders today published its "Emerging Rockets" list naming over 50 privately held BC technology companies that are demonstrating great potential, and are clearly "ones to watch" in their respective sectors.
Following on the heels of last week's publication of the 2008 "Ready to Rocket" list, which recognizes information technology companies with high revenue growth prospects in 2008, this "Emerging Rockets" list recognizes companies in many technology sectors that, despite great potential for market breakthroughs in 2008, may be a few years away from maximum revenue growth.
According to Dave Thomas, Senior Partner at Rocket Builders, "The audience of the Ready to Rocket list have been expressing interest in more sectors and earlier stage companies. The I.T. Sector has always had a large number of companies to choose from, and last year we realized that other sectors were showing similar depth and diversity. In past, early stage information technology companies were profiled in a "Ones to Watch" list. Past B.C. successes like FlickR and Club Penguin have been profiled on the list. Rebranded as the "Emerging Rockets" list in 2008, the list now also features the BioTech/HealthTech, CleanTech, Wireless, New Media and Web 2.0 sectors.

To qualify for the 'Emerging Rockets' list, companies must have a well defined product and have clearly identified a market for their technology. The selection process involves analysis of many candidates in each sector along with consultation with many experts in each sector, and companies are ultimately chosen based on a Rocket Builders analyst's opinion on likelihood of investment and/or likelihood of milestone market traction events in 2008.
